Inspector General Police Punjab Shoaib Dastgir directed to take steps according to a comprehensive plan for the s
ecurity of lives and properties of public and religious worship places utilising all available resources.
Arrangements should also be made for the s
ecurity of processions and Majalis on Youm e Hazrat Ali (AS) in case government allows the processions and majalis. He further directed to pay 25 thousand each for the police officials effected from corona from welfare fund ensuring the safety measures to stop spread of corona virus including use of sanitizer, maintaining social distance and other precautionary measures.
He also directed to implement the time table strictly of closing the shops and markets ensuring a timely action against the traders who are doing business deceptively. He further said that no leniency should be shown to the
hoarders ensuring strict action against them under price control act. He further directed RPOs and DPOs to inspect s
ecurity of sensitive mosques, Imambargahs and other important places ensuring that no aged or weak s
ecurity guard is on s
ecurity duty while search should be done by volunteers and police officials should perform s
ecurity duties on high alert. He further said that land allotment should be marked as early as possible for police stations without own building in coordination with deputy commissioners. He added that in the last decade of Ramadan, s
ecurity of banks, shopping centers and markets should be tightened and patrolling around the sensitive areas and public centers should be made more effective along with search, sweep, combing and intelligence-based operations should be continued. He gave these instructions while issuing instructi
ons to the officers during a video link conference of RPOs, DPOs held at the Central Police Office. During the conference, the overall law and order situation in the province, Corona lock down and other professional matters were reviewed in detail.
During the meeting, all the RPOs and DPOs briefed the IG Punjab on professional matters and challenges faced by force, upon which IGP directed that in this difficult time of global pandemic Police force is performing duties on Quarantine centers beside Ramadan s
ecurity duty which reflects the real spirit of department that entire force is present to serve the nation with national service and national spirit, as this is our basic duty and mission. He further said that additional troops should be deployed for s
ecurity of markets and shopping centers to implement government orders regarding Corona lock down while cracking down on criminal elements during Ramadan s
ecurity and lock down duty should be intensified. The IG Punjab stressed that during the last decade of the blessed month, additional force should be deployed on all the major highways of the province to overcome the problems of traffic management, especially during Iftar the smooth flow of traffic should not be affected at all.
He urged that strict implementation of the orders issued by the Central Police Of
fice should be ensured and in case of any laziness, the responsible officers and personnel should be prepared for departmental action. He further said that surprise visits should be undertaken to assess field duty and senior officers should break their fasts with officials deputed on quarantine centers, lock down duty and in pickets and also encouraged them along with briefing them about the sensitivities of their duties in current circumstances so tha
t they may perform their duties with diligence. He further added that process of checking and monitoring over inter districts and inter provincial check posts should be tightened for arresting criminals and anti-social elements and if any district need help with respect to resources then operations branch of central police of
fice should be informed immediately so that quick provision of help should not be interrupted.
